He developed a code to simulate the diffusion dynamics of an externally applied pulsive magnetic field into a conductive material, such as gold. He concluded that the external magnetic field can penetrate into the gold within the experimental timescale because the gold is heated by the inductive current driven by the pulsive magnetic field and the heated gold changes abruptly an insulator at the boiling temperature.
This code is very helpful to design high-energy-density plasma experiments using the laser-driven magnetic field.
